Afterbirth authors are out and about
Mar. 19th, 2006
A Michigan radio station (WIDR 89.1 FM) will be interviewing three of our Afterbirth authors in the month of April. Ron Riekki and co-host Kenny Witzgall, on their program Promethean Underground Literary Show, will discuss the books, the authors, the bizarro movement, and anything else that comes to mind, as well as giving opportunity for listeners to call in with questions or comments. On Wednesday, April 5 at 5:30 PM, they will interview John Lawson; then Bruce Taylor on the 12th. On April 19, they will be discussing Bradley's debut novel, It Came From Below the Belt. Tune in!

Back by popular demand, Bruce Taylor returns to Epilogue Books in Seattle, to read more magic realism and surrealism from his new book, Kafka's Uncle and Other Strange Tales as well as from another work, The Final Trick of Funnyman and Other Stories. He will also be reading from a work in progress, Kafka's Uncle, The Ghastly Prequel and Other Stories of Love and Pathos From the World's Most Powerful, Third-World Banana Republic. The event is scheduled for April 6 at 6:30.

In other news, Kevin Dole 2 spoke at Eastern Michigan University recently, discussing Tangerinephant and the underground press. The talk was titled "Technology and the Future of Independent Publishing." He talked about how he came to be published with Afterbirth and some of the new web-based marketing approaches.

Afterbirth Books is also proud to welcome Jason Earls, and his book The Cocoon of Terror, to the group. Jason's book will be scheduled for release in early 2007. Jason is an author and mathmetician, and this book contains a ground-breaking combination of bizarro material and math that will blow you away! Watch for more details.

We're excited with our spring offerings, that we hope to present in the next couple of months: Chemical Gardens, Deity, and Vinegar Wasteland. Early reviews are very positive so get ready! Thanks for checking in with us, and remember the Autumn Eggplant of the Underground Zero always has something for everyone. ;-)

Just a quick note to let everyone know that It Came From Below the Belt is in! The boxes were delivered by the very nice UPS woman, under clear blue Seattle skies. We'll begin shipping out preorders this week. Congrats to Bradley on the publication of his first novel!
