Information about the Book
Book Description:
Meet Nikki Nasco: 40, single, obsessive, neurotic, unorthodox and unexpectedly fun. She is having a very normal day. She goes to the gym, she calls her mother, and she stresses out about not having her Top Five desert island CD's selected. Meet Amber Lawson: 35, lesbian, driven, aerobics instructor. She too is having a very normal day. She attends law school, teaches Boot Camp and receives a phone call from Nikki, the purpose of which she never fully understands, but knows there is a deserted island involved. And then the darkness comes ….
In a world where coffee is no longer available, the only television shows are reality TV re-runs, and the animals are talking back, Nikki, Amber and a singing Coyote in a do-rag are out to restore the light (and hopefully prevent Nikki's eyes from being stolen by an Irish midget). Normal is missing. Reward.

- Nikki: Brunette, olive skin, gets stuck in a light blue tank top and grey boxer shorts for most of the book

- Lefty: coyote in a do rag
- Luke: the eye stealing leprechaun

Prizes
First Prize: Art will be used on cover of All Encompassing Trip*. Winner will also receive two signed copies of All Encompassing Trip, plus one copy of each book published by Afterbirth Books to date.
Second Prize: Choice of three copies of books published by Afterbirth Books, and one signed copy of All Encompassing Trip.
Third prize: One signed copy of All Encompassing Trip.
*Note: If no submission is found to be suitable for the cover, the prizes will be awarded, but the art will not be used for the cover.
Contest rules
- Entries must be submitted by the original artist. You must be the sole owner of the copyright of any image submitted. Your submission of the image and entry form is your guarantee that you are the artist and copyright owner of the image.
- Artists retain the copyright to their images. By entering the contest, artist agrees to have their submitted artwork displayed on the Afterbirth Books website, and possibly used as cover art for forthcoming All Encompassing Trip, without any fee or other form of compensation. Cover art will be credited to the author named on the entry form. Entries (including non-winning entries) may be selected for display on Afterbirth Books website. In the event that ownership of any image submitted is contested in any manner, Afterbirth Book retains the discretion to disqualify that image and discontinue use.
- Each entry must be accompanied by a completed contest entry form. Entries must be received by September 30th, 2006, at 11:59 p.m. PST.
- Art can be submitted as a digital image or sent via snail mail to Afterbirth Books at P.O. Box 6068, Lynnwood, WA 98036. Artwork mailed as hard copy will not be returned.
- The book cover will be 5.5” x 8.5”, and must include at least ¼” tolerance all sides to allow for trim. If title and author name are included in the design, all letters must be at least ½” from all sides.
- Entries will be judged on the basis of creativity, quality, and effectiveness in conveying the tone of the novel. A panel will judge the entries and all contest decisions are final. Entries that fail to comply with the Official Contest Rules will be disqualified.
- Winners will be notified approximately 2-3 weeks after the contest deadline by email using the information on the entry form. No financial compensation is provided to winners. The selection of a first place winner does not guarantee that the image will be used for the publication, All Encompassing Trip, however the image will appear on the website and the prizes will still be awarded.
